I gave my 5800 to the wife as a valentine's present. Set everything up for her including contacts and pics. She's over the moon.

She's now hooking the 5800 up to the TV to see what the sound is like. This from my non-tech savy wife, I've created a gillianmoth :D She'll be blogging soon :D

That's funny, 5800 was a first phone in a loong time my wife thought was interesting :) (She works for Nok too)

@jukkaeklund: Did you see the latest issue of Tietokone? They made a comparison between touch phones which made evident that the 5800XM is the clearly half the price of an iPhone but second to none other when it comes to combined performance + features.

The funny thing was that the 5800XM with a score of 8.0 wasn't picked as Editor's Choice alongside the device with the best score of 8.4 (iPhone 3G) but inexplicably lost that distinction to HTC Touch HD which had a tad smaller score of 8.0. Hidden bias?

Maybe not even so hidden, it's a small Finnish paper. Have you ever seen anything else than Nokia winning the Tekniikan Maailma tests?

Yeah but in this case there was an like anti-bias to Nokia, as if inoculating against the Nokian influence. :D I wouldn't hav thought too much about it if they specifically had mentioned their gut feelings when awarding their distinctions / badges of honor but the reason for dropping the 5800 from any mention, even an honorabl one, was not given. I understand that with a very similar score but a pricier construction, the HTC Touch HD would'v felt like a better business/lifestyle accessory than a plasticky first generation S60 touch device but why not just say it aloud? It's as if they had already made their minds up to discriminate against "that Nokia toy" (putting it speculativly) but I guess then their own scoreboard proved a bit of a surprise. :)
