@bogart as yet I'm unaware
of anyone managing to get iPlayer to work with or without proxies
(or any other clever methods) from outside the UK. I guess you
could login to a VM based in the UK but that would suck.
According to the Lifehacker peeps, they are using that method to
access BBC from outside the UK, and US-only sites from outside the
US. Haven't had a chance to try it myself.
Is Torchwood season 2 on BBC iPlayer? That might be
some incentive.
@gerrymoth: You still
can't listen to Real Player in the background, can you? Kinda
defeats the purpose of playing radio programmes. That's more a
Nokia/Real problem than the BBC's though.

Still pissed that I can't download Heroes though. Don't want to watch it streaming, want to watch it offline.

Okay now for the weird one. The BBC iPlayer is allowing me to play via 3G on the N95 8GB, but not the E71.

I have another version for the E71 Only, if anyone wants to try as I've lost 3UK data at the moment http://url.ie/rct

Would it be possible to use a proxy type method on the phone? Something like this: http://lifehacker.com/394410/access-us+o...
