I suspect I'll be dumping 3UK in the coming months for much the same reasons -- poor coverage, weird signal switching and lousy tech support.
If you'll excuse the piggy-backing, I'm interested in identifying the most consistently reliable payg 3G broadband provider, particularly outside metropolitan areas.
While the price will have a bearing on my decision, I want a decent connection wherever I go (within reason!)
Ah, means I'll need to take a vodafone contract, then add the mobile internet to it. I just want a data plan only as I've still got a few good months of my 3 contract to go.
Just been onto 3 CS to try and get someone to investigate this and after agruing with the operator he eventualy said he'd escalate this to the higher technical team. Great I thought until he came back with I can't access your customer details as our systems are being upgraded at the moment, can you call back in 2hrs. F'it I said, I'm going to call back in 2hrs and go through the same sh!t I've just went thru with you with another operator. I give up, you try to help identify a problem and they just don't want to know.

What's the cheapest PAYG mobile internet or broadband, other than 3, in the UK?

I had to dump 3 because everytime it switched between 2/3G it dropped the call. Most annoying, particularly as I live in a fringe area.....
Been on VF a couple of months now, and couldn't be happier.... call quality is absolutely top notch.
£5 on contract for unlimited (500mb) data aint too bad.....

£5pm if you agree to it for the full length of the contract, or £7.50pm if you want the ability to remove it at any time.....

Yes, sorry if my post mis-lead..... I should have said £5 bolt-on to a contract..... Apologies
